Overview
Dayara Bugyal is often celebrated as one of India’s most beautiful high-altitude meadows. In the local language, Bugyal means “alpine pastureland” — and Dayara lives up to its name with vast rolling grasslands spread across the upper Garhwal region.
Located above 10,000 ft in Uttarkashi district, this trek is ideal for beginners, families, and nature lovers. The trail takes you through thick forests of oak and maple, charming mountain clearings, and finally opens into the grand, open slopes of Dayara Bugyal, stretching over several kilometres.
The trek offers unforgettable views of the Bandarpunch massif, Black Peak, Srikanth, and Jaonli — making it a perfect blend of easy walking and majestic Himalayan scenery.
Detailed Itinerary

By afternoon, arrive at Raithal (7,545 ft) — a peaceful Himalayan village and the base camp of your trek. Spend the evening acclimatizing, interacting with locals, and enjoying the crisp mountain air. Overnight stay in Raithal.Day 2: Raithal → Gui Campsite (4 km | 5–6 hrs)
After breakfast, begin the gradual climb from Raithal to Gui. The trail passes through dense forests filled with oak, maple, and in spring, blooming rhododendrons in shades of pink and red.
The trail is well-marked and easy to follow, with resting points along the way.
At Gui Campsite, you’re welcomed by sweeping views of Garhwal’s snow-capped peaks, including Bandarpunch. Spend the evening enjoying the calm surroundings and settle in for the night.
